PC Wins 4th Straight, Beats Creighton 85-71 Behind Diallo’s Double-Double

Alpha Diallo poured in 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Providence College Friars men's basketball team past Creighton 85-71 on Saturday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
Diallo has scored in double figures in six straight games for PC and has three double-doubles on the year.

PC Holds Off Creighton
The Friars led 67-56 with 7:33 to play in the game before Creighton went on a 9-2 run to cut the Friars lead to 69-65 following a jump shot from Ronnie Harrell Jr.
On the Friars next possession, Jalen Lindsey knocked down a corner three to extended the PC lead to 72-65 with 3:05 to play in the game.
Creighton would get within five, 74-69, with 1:41 to go before Diallo would get a layup and one to go, giving Providence a 77-69 lead.
The Blue Jays would get back within eight, 69-61 with a minute to play, but the Friars would seal the game at the free throw line in the final seconds.
Kyron Cartwright added 20 points and seven assists, while Isaiah Jackson poured in 11 points off the bench.
Next up
The Friars return to action on Tuesday, January 23 when they visit #1 Villanova.
Game time is set for 7 p.m.
