Rodney Bullock recorded his first double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Providence College Friars men’s basketball team held on to beat the University of Washington 77-70 in the semi-final round of the 2K Classic on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Bullock also had two assists and two steals in the game.

PC Holds On
After leading by seven, 37-30, at the half, the Friars saw Washington rally to tie the game at 43 with 15:38 to play in the game following two free throws from Noah Dickerson.
PC would quickly retake the lead on back-to-back three-pointers by Bullock and Maliek White to go up 49-43 with 14:10 to play.
Providence would build a 12 point lead 68-56 with 6:56 to play when Drew Edwards before Washington would rally.
Washington’s Matisse Thybulle knocked down a three with 2:29 to cap off a 12-1 run by the Huskies and cut the Friars lead to one, 69-68, before PC use a run of their own to close the game.
Sparked by a jumper by freshman Nate Watson, the Friars would close the game on a 9-2 run to come away with the win.
Next up
The Friars will play Saint Louis out of the Atlantic 10 in the championship game on Friday, November 17 at 7 p.m.
Saint Louis advanced to the championship after beating Virginia Tech in the other semi-final on Thursday.
