Sunday, December 18, 2016
The Providence College Friars ripped off 31 straight points in the first half en route to a 76-54 win over Wagner on Saturday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donut's Center.
"I thought it was a really good team effort, everyone contributed, we played a lot of guys today. Coming out of exams, we knew we were going to play a feisty team, but to the player's credit I thought we were ready to play today, it was a good team effort," said Providence head coach Ed Cooley after the game.
The win moves PC to 9-2 on the season, while Wagner falls to 3-6 overall.

PC Cruises After Slow Start

"I thought in the first half, maybe first two minutes we came out a little bit sluggish so I called a timeout, refocused the guys a little bit," Cooley said.
After that, it all changed.
Providence would go on a 31-0 run, holding Wagner scoreless for nearly 13 minutes to take a 35-10 lead following a three from Maliek White.
During the run, the Friars got threes from Jalen Lindsey, Rodney Bullock, and White, while Kalif Young and Emmitt Holt were effective in the paint.
The Friars would take a 45-20 lead into the half.
PC opened the second half with a three from Lindsey, followed by a jumper from Bullock and a three from Isaiah Jackson to take a 53-22 lead.
PC would cruise the rest of the way.
The Leaders
The Friars were led by Lindsey who poured in 16 points on 4 of 5 shooting from the field, including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc.
Holt added 11 points while Kyron Cartwright dished out 11 assists in the game.
