Kris Dunn

The Providence College Friars men's basketball team (6-0) defeated the (5-1) #11 Arizona Wildcats on Friday night in the semi final round of the Wooden Legacy Tournament. The win was PC's biggest win over a ranked team away from the Dunkin' Donuts Center since 2004 when they defeated #4 UConn.

The Wildcats and Friars were tied at 65 after Arizona's Ryan Anderson knocked down two free throws with 49 seconds left to play.

On PC's next possession, Kris Dunn nailed a jumper with 32 seconds to play to put the Friars up 67-65. 

Arizona would have one last possession but it would end with a Ben Bentil steal and outlet pass to a streaking Dunn who would end the game with a dunk. 

Kris Dunn scored the final ten points for Providence, bringing them back from a seven point deficit and into the championship game.  

The Leaders 

The Friars were led by Ben Bentil who netted 21 points in the game while Kris Dunn poured in 19 points and dished out eight assists. 

Arizona's Ryan Anderson scored a game high 27 points for the Wildcats. 

Next up 

The Friars return to action on Sunday, November 29th when they face #3 Michigan State in the championship game. Tip-off is set for 10 p.m. eastern time on ESPN2.

Kyron Cartwright

Sophomore Kyron Cartwright saw a lot of action in the game due to Kris Dunn's foul trouble and he made the most of it, running the offense and keeping Providence in the game.

Kartwright finished with 4 points and four rebounds in 23 minutes of action.

Fouls

Providence had 18 fouls and Arizona had 19 fouls in the game.

For the Friars, their key players Dunn and Bullock, both had four fouls and were on the bench as much as they were on the court.

Overall, the Friars star players need to be careful with fouls. With the adjusted rules, it's easier said then done, but the Friars can't afford to have games with major foul trouble.

Ben Bentil

Both Dunn and Bullock were in foul trouble for the majority of the game and once again, Ben Bentil was a major factor offensivly.

Bentil shot 9 of 20 from the field, including 2 of 5 from three-point land in route to 21 points to lead Providence. This follows a 24 point performance against Evansville.

Rebounding

This was really the first game so far this season in which the Friars lack of size showed as they were dominated on the glass.

Arizona out rebounded PC 43-22 in the game including 16 offensive rebounds leading to numerous second chance points.

Dunn, Bentil and Bullock led the Friars with 4 rebounds each.

Kris Dunn

Kris Dunn was in foul trouble for most of the night, in fact the entire night, but at the end of the game, he showed why he is arguably the best player in the country.

Dunn scored the final ten points for the Friars in the final 2:26 seconds to help PC overcome a seven point deficit.

Dunn finished the game with 19 points, eight assists and two steals.
