3rd Annual Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic Raises More Than $500,000

The third annual Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic raised more than $500,000 from the live and silent auction, the golf classic and the softball classic events. The event took place August 11-12 at The Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth, RI.

Sponsors included Walgreens, East Commerce Solutions, Xerox, the Providence Journal, Alex and Ani, Amica, Bristol County Savings Bank, and Walmart. More information can be found here.

Earvin “Magic” Johnson co-hosted the event for the third time with Grammy nominated singer/song writer and Rhode Island native Jeffrey Osborne.

The star-studded, two-day golf event benefits charities that support initiatives to bring music and arts back to public school systems and those that provide safe environments and services for families and children in need.

The first two events have provided more than $300,000 to Rhode Island non-profits that represent the organization’s mission. This year’s recipients include: The Amos House, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence, The Music School of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, The MET School, and St. Mary’s Home for Children among others.
