Raimondo Appoints Marisa Quinn to Rhode Island Ethics Commission

Governor Gina M. Raimondo announced Tuesday that she has named Marisa Quinn to the Rhode Island Ethics Commission.
"Building upon my ongoing commitment to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct in government, I am pleased to announce my appointment of Marisa Quinn to the Rhode Island Ethics Commission," said Raimondo. "Marisa has a proven experience fostering clear communication, accountability, and innovation, and will be an excellent addition to the Commission."
"I also want to thank Sr. Deborah Cerullo for her service on this Commission and great work on behalf of our state," Raimondo added.
"I am grateful to Governor Raimondo for my appointment to the Rhode Island Ethics Commission," said Marisa Quinn. "I look forward to serving my fellow Rhode Islanders in this role and joining the other Commission members to advance a shared and important agenda for our state."
The Rhode Island Ethics Commission is a constitutionally mandated body that is empowered to adopt, enforce and administer the Code of Ethics. The Code presents standards of conduct for public officials and employees across state and local government. The Commission educates and advises public officials and employees about the standards of conduct set out in the Code of Ethics.
Quinn currently serves as the Director of Communications and Outreach at the Watson Institute of International Studies at Brown University. Prior to this, she held various roles at Brown, the most recent being Vice President for Public Affairs and University Relations. She also served as Brown's Director of Federal Relations, Director of Community and Government Relations and Assistant to University President.
Before Brown, she held a number of public sector positions: she was chief of communications and public information at the Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; executive assistant to the chairman of the board and public affairs specialist at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; policy advisor to Governor Jim Florio of New Jersey; and legislative aide to Senator Claiborne Pell.
Quinn serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and RI Kids Count. She holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Rhode Island and an M.A. in public policy from Rutgers.
