The last statement from the Coventry State Police was December 2, when they announced the search for Pendleton had been suspended.

“The Rhode Island State Police, the RI Department of Environmental Management, and the Coventry Police Department are suspending their search for missing hiker Patti Pendleton at 5 PM this evening. Over 4200 acres have been painstakingly searched on the ground, over 10 square miles were searched from the air, and Pendleton has not been located."

The RI Department of Environmental Management reminds all individuals that tomorrow, December 3, 2016, beings shotgun hunting season in Rhode Island. Law enforcement is urging all individuals to use extreme caution and be vigilant should they choose to continue searching in the woods.

Prior to that post, on December 1, the Coventry Police Department had posted instructions for volunteers to once again  help with the search for Pendleton, who had been last in touch with her family on November 28, and was reported missing on November 29.
