NEW: Brown University Names Cliatt New VP for Communications

Brown University has announced that Cass Cliatt has been named Vice President for Communications. Cliatt will start work at Brown on April 1, 2015, replacing Marisa Quinn. 

Cliatt currently serves as the Vice President for Communications at Franklin & Marshall College and has served there since 2012. 

"The task of implementing a clear, effective, and engaging University communications strategy is more important, and more complex, than ever before," said Brown President Christina Paxson.

As the University's chief communications officer, Cliatt will serve as the University's chief spokesperson for external media.

Cliatt will also conceive, implement, evaluate, and update a strategic communications plan the will support and advance the institution's goals and priorities. 

As the Vice President of communication, Cliatt will report to President Paxson directly and will serve as a member of the Cabinet and the Executive Committee.
