LIVE Nutrition: Healthy Snacking
Monday, September 11, 2017
Registered and licensed dietitian nutritionist Shira Hirshberg with All Foods Nutrition says healthy snacking is important for children and adults, but unplanned and random snacking can lead to problems like weight gain.
“Nonstop snacking interferes with kids' appetites and can disrupt their natural instinct to experience hunger and fullness,” Hirshberg says.
Some healthy snack options Hirshberg recommends include cheese sticks, small packs of almonds, hard boiled eggs, yogurt with granola, as well as bananas and apples with peanut butter.
