Lez Zeppelin brings the Led to Cranston's Park Theatre Saturday

“5 Live Music Musts” is our weekly round-up of the best in area music. This week, classic Rock artists dominate our picks. Get those cigarette lighter apps out and be ready to rock hard!

Slash at Lupos Tonight

Guns and Roses fans won’t want to miss legendary guitarist Slash tonight at Lupo’s in Providence. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member has a new release World on Fire, a kickass rock and roll album the sounds "like they used to make ‘em." Backing Slash are longtime collaborators Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The rock show begins at 9PM (doors at 8) with opener The Last Internationale. Tickets are $40. For more classic rock, head back to Lupos Wednesday September 23 for former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley.

Aztec Two Step at Chan’s Tonight

Aztec Two Step is a classic folk rock act who first came to prominence in the early 1970’s. Guitarists Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman sing with a warmth and harmony reminiscent of the Everly Brothers and Simon and Garfunkle. They return to Chan’s in Woonsocket tonight at 8PM – tickets are $25.

Lez Zeppelin at Park Theatre Saturday

Lez Zeppelin is far more than a tribute band. They’ve been hailed as “the most powerful all female band in rock and roll history” by Chuck Klosterman in Spin Magazine. They play Zep favorites and a few lost classics with a ton of energy and great stage pressence. You can hear them wail on Saturday night at 7:30PM at the Park Theatre in Cranston. Tickets start at $20.

Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters Play Boston Sunday

Robert Plant in Boston Sunday

Keep the Zep spirit alive on Sunday night, where there are still good seats available for the most famous voice in rock and roll. Led Zeppelin’s lead singer, Robert Plant is playing the Blue Hills Bank Pavillion in Boston with his band, the Sensational Shape Shifters. Plant is on a world tour and just played the Lockn’ Festival in Virginia. Concert starts at 7:30 – proto-punk rockers The Sonics open the show. Tickets start at around $46.

Lord Huron at Lupos Thursday

As they prepare for their 40th anniversary, we’re on a bit of a Lupo’s kick this week. The fun continues at RI’s longest running rock club on Thursday with Newport Folk Fest favorite Lord Huron. Led by Michigan born Ben Schnieder, the band’s atmospheric folk rock sound, full of a lot of reverb and echo, has made them a favorite among indie rock fans. Check out their new album Strange Trails and see them at Lupos on Thursday Septemebr 24 at 9PM. Ticket info here.
