This weekend’s events include the Bowen’s Wharf Columbus Day Sidewalk Sale, the World Class Cider Takeover at Norey’s and the Rogue Island Comedy Comedy Festival.

The festival features over 70 stand-up comedians from Comedy Central, CONAN, HBO, Last Comic Standing, The Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon, MTV, VH1 and more!

The show goes from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Life in Colonial Newport at the Wanton-Lyman-Hazard House

Meet costumed interpreters representing aspects of life in 1774 Newport as gentlemen discuss politics and the latest news.

The kitchen will be transformed into a 18th-century millinery shop where ladies will consider the latest fashions.

Visitors are invited to join the conversations as they get a glimpse of life in colonial Newport just before the start of the American Revolution

The event goes from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Broadway Street Fair

The Broadway Street Fair will begin at Equality Park and extend all along the street into Washington Square. The day will be filled with music, food, family activities, and exhibiting artists. This is a rain or shine event! 

Five outdoor stages will feature local musicians, comedy, and dance.

Over a dozen restaurants will show off their culinary talents, and local artisans will showcase their creativity, too. 

The fair goes from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Colonial to Contemporary / A Newport Ride Through Time

Rid through Newport’s history from Colonial to Victorian to Gilded to modern times.

The ride begins at the Newport Visitors Center, 23 America’s Cup Avenue and ends with a picnic lunch on the rear lawn of McAuley Hall, Salve Regina University, Ochre Point Avenue.

The event goes from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Newport Marathon at Easton's Beach Rotunda 

The Newport Marathon and half marathon promises to be a great day for all. 

The event is open to all runners, those looking to qualify for the Boston Marathon, or those just out for a jog. 

The marathon begins at 5:15 p.m. and the day ends at 2 p.m.

Hit the trails with the NBS Education staff to learn naturalist skills and help collect data on the property’s animal and plant diversity. The goal? Hike as many of the trails, see as much of the wildlife as possible, and have fun doing it

Beavertail Lighthouse Climb

Climb to the top of the Beavertail Lighthouse in Jamestown. 

Climbers are strongly urged to consider footwear other than flip-flops. Neither small children nor pets may be carried. Climbers must be in line by 3:30 p.m. to climb tower before closing.
