Hendricken’s Martellini Named Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year

Bishop Hendricken junior Gian Martellini is the Gatorade Player of the Year for Rhode Island High School Baseball.
Martellini batted .467 this season as the Hawks compiled a 17-1 record, establishing themselves as the favorites in the state championship tournament. The All-State catcher also drove in 41 runs and is one of the best all-around prospects in New England.
Martellini has maintained a 3.14 GPA at Hendricken and has done community service through Habitat for Humanity and Hendricken's peer mentoring program for students with educational and developmental disabilities.
