RIMA/makeRI Announce Manufacturing Day 2014

The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the Manufacturing Institute (MI), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) have created Manufacturing Day. This is a grassroots movement of manufacturers dedicated to overcoming the collective challenges of the industry.
Hundreds of manufacturers across the nation will participate in Manufacturing Day by hosting open houses, public tours, career workshops and other events.
Manufacturing Day will draw the public’s attention to work opportunities in manufacturing and encourage young adults and other job seekers to develop the skills they need to qualify for long-term, rewarding careers in this secure and growing sector of the economy

Teachers, guidance counselors, education leaders, parents and students to are encouraged to attend. The event will be on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 3:30-7:30 at the Quidnessett Country Club, North Kingston.
