NEW: BankRI to Open 20th Branch in New Middletown Location

BankRI will open a new branch in Middletown in early 2016. The office will be BankRI's 20th branch and will be located at 132 East Main Road.

“We are excited to have a presence in East Bay and offer those across its communities the relationship banking model that BankRI is known for. We’re also looking forward to introducing technology that delivers new levels of convenience to our valued customers while positioning ourselves to attract new clientele—we see a lot of potential for growth," said Mark Meiklejohn, President and CEO of BankRI.

Once it is complete, BankRI's Middletown branch will be 1,800 square feet and include private commercial lending offices, space dedicated to housing BankRI retail and business financial specialists, as well as conference rooms.

The new office will feature the introduction of the cash recycler machines at each teller window. The machines are expected to increase the efficiency of teller transactions and reduce the the time for business deposits by as much as 50 percent.

Bank Rhode Island

Bank Rhode Island is a full service financial institution headquarters in Providence. The bank currently operates 19 branches and over 55 ATMs throughout Providence, Kent and Washington Counties.

The donation will go on to establish a graduate program in nursing. Mr. Rodgers is former chief executive officer of Globe Manufacturing, a company in Fall River, Massachusetts. The family's foundation is the sole donor(s) ranked from Rhode Island.

Recipient: Russell County Area Community Foundation in Kansas

The bequest will create a scholarship fund for students going into college. Mr. Schlobohm owned an oil and gas business. The Starr F. Schlobohm Trust made the highest bequest in New Hampshire and is ranked the second most generous donor from the state.
