The commencement at Rhode Island College was taken over by a flash mob that raised the energy level and entertained the thousands of graduates, faculty, staff and the celebrating families. At this the 159th commencement, the 1,400 plus graduates were delighted by rendition of "Time of My Life."

New Report Shows State Workers’ Compensation Non-Competitive
State Employee compensation in Rhode Island is significantly below competitive rates nationally, according to an independent study commissioned by the State's Department of Administration (DOA). A sample of 21 job titles were compared in a comprehensive benchmark test against six other states and three comparable municipalities as well as prevalent wages within private sector occupational wages. The DOA’s commissioned report found Rhode Island State employees’ compensation does not stand up by comparison.

INVESTIGATION: Fire Districts Break Property Tax Cap
More than half the fire districts in Rhode Island exceeded the statewide property tax cap at least once in the last three years, according to new data obtained from the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council.
